Updated--The Ventura County Jail Inmate who allegedly escaped from the Pretrial Detention Facility in Ventura on January 25th was in court Tuesday following his capture Sunday in Oxnard.

30-year-old Jonathan Alfaro pleaded not guilty to a felony charge of Escape While Felony Charges are Pending.

That pending case included an allegation that he was involved in a First Degree Residential Burglary that was violent and involved a Vulnerable Victim in November of last year.

Alfaro had worked in the PTDF kitchen because he was considered a non-violent inmate.

He walked away from the facility and was ultimately located and taken into custody last Sunday while he walked in Oxnard.

Alfaro is now back in jail with bail set at $112,000.

He is due back in court on February 14th regarding this and his other pending cases.
