Updated--The Camarillo teenager who reportedly crashed into a CHP patrol vehicle at the end of a high speed pursuit in Ventura over the weekend was not charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Instead, 18-year-old Felicity Michaela Hughes was only charged with Felony Evading to which she pleaded not guilty Tuesday and was ordered released from jail on her own recognizance.

A little before 9 PM Saturday night the CHP in Ventura got word of a pursuit on the southbound 101 in Santa Barbara County that was entering Ventura County.

Units from the CHP in Ventura joined the pursuit as it continued southbound on the 101 through a portion of the City of Ventura where the suspect driver exited the freeway at Johnson Drive.

The CHP says she drove her 2012 Infiniti G37 sedan into a private lot at 3555 Ventura Road in Ventura which dead ends between the Ventura Auto Center and the Santa Clara River.

They allege she made a U-turn and crashed into the right front of one of the patrol vehicles that was blocking her escape.

She was finally taken into custody without further incident.

The officer in the patrol vehicle that was struck sustained minor injuries.

     No other injuries were reported.

Along with Felony Evading, Hughes had also been arrested for Assault with a Deadly Weapon for hitting the CHP patrol car but prosecutors only charged her with Felony Evading.
