Update--A Ventura County judge Tuesday sentenced a Santa Paula man to 610-years-to-life in prison for an extensive series of child sexual abuse crimes.
In October of this year, a Ventura County jury spent less than two days in deliberations before finding 37-year-old Travis Martin of Santa Paula, guilty of nine counts regarding crimes of child sexual abuse.
Martin, already a registered sex offender, was arrested almost a year ago at his home on Foothill Road near Santa Paula.
At the time, the Ventura County Sheriff's Office said that a 6-year-old girl had told the authorities she had been sexually abused by Martin for several years and that the abuse had happened in Anaheim, Mono Lake, and in Ventura County.
Also at the time, the sheriff's office indicated that there might be other victims.
In addition to finding him guilty of the nine felony counts of child sexual abuse, the jury also found true ten special allegations regarding substantial sexual conduct and also giving Ventura County the jurisdiction to prosecute all of the crimes.
Martin had already admitted other special allegations regarding his past criminal convictions.
