Charges Filed In Simi Valley Killiing

     Ventura County prosecutors have charged a Simi Valley man with murder in the death of his father.

     It is alleged that 34-year-old Gerardo Arroyo-Almanza fatally stabbed his father during a family disturbance.

     Officers responded to a home Saturday morning at East Pinecrest Street and North Justin Avenue.

     They say the disturbance had escalated to a point where the son had allegedly stabbed his father.

     The father was taken to a local hospital where died.

     Arroyo-Almanza was in court Tuesday to face a murder charge plus a host of other charges and special allegations that appear related to an extensive criminal record.

     He did not enter a plea and his arraignment was continued until next month.

     He remains in the Ventura County Jail and is being held without bail.
