SpaceX says the scheduled launch of a Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Air Force Base in northwestern Santa Barbara County is on for 7:21 PM Sunday.

It was originally set for Saturday but delayed a day to allow for more preflight preparation.

The payload is Argentina's SAOCOM 1-A earth observation satellite.

Once the first stage of the Falcon 9 has been jettisoned, it will make a powered soft landing back at Vandenberg.

The process of returning the rocket to an earth landing will produce sonic booms.

While SpaceX has launched Falcon 9's from Vandenberg many times and retrieved the first stage of the rocket with a powered soft landing, this is the first time the rocket landing zone is back at Vandenberg.

SpaceX also has three launches scheduled in November from Vandenberg.
