Shortly after 12 PM, the dispatch center received a number of 911 calls reporting an explosion and fire at a two-story office building at 1429 East Thousand Oaks Boulevard.
Responding firefighters could see a large column of smoke well before arriving on the scene.
When they did arrive, firefighters had a well-involved fire that was threatening to spread to other nearby structures.
They also had reports of injuries and also ammunition in one of the businesses in the building that is occupied by several different businesses including medical related businesses.
While some firefighters attacked the fire, others worked to keep it from spreading to other structures and yet other firefighters looked for any people who were injured or trapped.
1429 Thousand Oaks Boulevard was the main fire building with some damage done to 1425 East Thousand Oaks Boulevard.
There was one medical patient being treated at the scene but no other injuries reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
