Updated--Oxnard firefighters have knocked down a two-alarm apartment fire that damaged or destroyed several units of the same building where a fire broke out Friday night that was confined to one unit.
Saturday morning's fire at 1373 Althea Court was reported at 11 AM.
Firefighters could see smoke the minute they left the fire station and when they arrived on scene they found the two story building fully involved in flames with those flames threatening neighboring units.
They called for a second alarm which brought in firefighters from throughout western Ventura County.
The fire reportedly started a run through the attic spreading to the rest of the building and other units.
Then, around 11:15 AM, a report that the roof had collapsed.
Firefighters had the fire knocked down at 11:46 AM.
Two minor civilians injuries were reported.
The Red Cross was on scene to help at least 50 tenants displaced by the fire.
Cause of both the Friday night fire and the new one Saturday morning is under investigation.
