Trial Ordered In Intentional Fillmore Fatal Crash

Wednesday July 11, 2018

A judge ruled Wednesday there is sufficient evidence for a Fillmore man to stand trial on murder and attempted murder charges in connection with what the authorities say was an intentional crash that killed an Oxnard man.

Deputies say that 30-year-old Eduardo Robles was westbound on the 126 in Fillmore in May when his vehicle rear-ended another vehicle pushing that vehicle into the eastbound lane where it collided with a big rig truck.

The driver of the victim vehicle, 28-year-old Benjamin Brown of Oxnard, was killed.

Robles and his passenger were injured.

The authorities say that Robles acted intentionally in an attempt to kill himself and his passenger but instead ended up killing the driver of the vehicle he rear-ended.

Robles remains in jail with bail set at $700,000 and will be back in court July 26th to have a trial date set.
