Saturday December 29, 2018

Ventura police held a DUI/Driver's License checkpoint Friday night.

They screened 862 vehicles traveling eastbound on Main Street from Callens Road near the Target Store.

During the roughly three hours the checkpoint was in operation, they conducted a dozen standard Field Sobriety Tests and arrested three drivers for DUI.

Police say one of the drivers had a blood alcohol level of .20, another had a BAC of .05 while the third requested a blood test and results are pending.

Meanwhile, one motorist was cited for driving on a suspended license while three others received citations for not having a license at all.

Three miscellaneous citations were also handed out and two vehicles were impounded.
