A mild winter storm moved through Ventura County Thursday night bringing much needed rain with few problems.
Rainfall ranged from a quarter inch to two-thirds of an inch with some snow in the mountains (for rainfall totals check the link at the top of this story).
The CHP says snow on Interstate Five over the Grapevine required them to escort traffic for awhile but it did not require closure and as of Friday morning it was open.
There were a number of rain-related crashes Thursday night including a six-car pile up on the southbound 101 Freeway at Victoria Avenue in Ventura.
No serious injuries were reported in that crash that included one vehicle flying off the freeway onto Valentine Road.
The storm has moved east and Ventura County should be in for a dry and pleasant three day holiday weekend with the next chance of rain possibly on Tuesday.
