Port Hueneme police are investigating a Sunday night shooting that left a teenager in critical condition.
It happened shortly before 10:30 PM in the 2500 block of Spinnaker Avenue.
Officers responded to several 911 calls of "shots fired" and when they arrived on the scene they found a 17-year-old male down in the grass walkway of the west alley.
The teen was suffering from one gunshot wound to the abdomen.
He was rushed to the trauma center at VCMC where police say he was listed in critical condition.
Police say some of the 911 callers said they saw a male in a white shirt and dark pants running northbound from the crime scene.
