Ventura police say they arrested two people in connection with a paintball attack on a driver Sunday evening.
Shortly before 6 PM, Ventura PD received a 911 call from a 20-year-old male saying he had been shot in the back by someone in a passing vehicle.
The victim stayed on the phone with dispatchers while he followed the suspect vehicle in his vehicle.
The victim stopped following the suspects after he determined he had been shot in the back with a paintball gun and had sustained only minor injuries.
Meanwhile, police, armed with a description of the suspect vehicle that had been provided by the victim, were able to identify the suspects and met with them at police headquarters.
They ultimately arrested the alleged shooter, 18-year-old Terrell Vaughn of Ventura, and the alleged driver, a 17-year-old male from Ventura, in connection with the incident.
Police say the suspects had conspired to drive around Ventura shooting the paintball gun at people.
Police say the 17-year-old was cited for conspiracy and battery and released to his parents.
Jail records indicate that Vaughn was booked for conspiracy, battery, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and then released on his own recognizance.
Another 18-year-old passenger in the vehicle was not arrested.
Ventura police are looking for anyone else who might have been the victim of a paintball attack to give them a call at (805) 339-4416.
