Update--The victim of Thursday night's homicide in Oxnard has been identified.

The Ventura County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victim as 20-year-old Jose Aguilera Jr. of Oxnard.

The fatal shooting was reported shortly after 10:30 PM in the 900 block of Spruce Street.

Officers responded to the scene to find Aguilera down on a driveway.

Efforts to revive him were unsuccessful and Aguilera was pronounced dead at the scene.

Aguilera is the second homicide victim of this year in Oxnard.

Police released few other details other than to say their investigation continues into possible suspects and a motive for the crime.

Meanwhile, there was a second shooting about an hour later in the 200 block of North A Street and it left an adult male with a gunshot wound to the leg.

    Police say he will recover.

They continue to look for a suspect and motive for that shooting.

They do not believe the shootings are related.
