Oxnard police have made more arrests of suspected auto thieves in an effort to combat that growing problem in the city.
Late Wednesday morning, officers arrested 36-year-old Luis Aguilar in the 1000 block of South Oxnard Boulevard for vehicle theft after locating a stolen 1997 Nissan Sentra.
He was also arrested for receiving stolen property, driving with a suspended license and an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.
About 4 PM that same day, officers were doing follow-up investigation into the theft of a Ford pick-up truck when they identified and arrested 33-year-old David Thornsberry.
Then, around 12:30 PM Thursday, officers located a stolen GMC Sierra pickup in the area of Pleasant Valley Road and Hailes Road.
The driver, 28-year-old Felipe De Los Reyes, was arrested for vehicle theft and drug charges.
Oxnard police say all three suspects have criminal histories.
Police say Honda passenger vehicles seem to be the target of many car thieves and they are offering steering wheel locks to Oxnard residents who own 1990-2000 Honda passenger vehicles.
They also have a limited supply of those devices for other vehicle owners.
