A man that Oxnard police say is a career criminal was arrested Tuesday morning for allegedly operating a chop shop and being in possession of a stolen vehicle.
Officers responded to the 400 block of East Second Street to a report of a suspicious vehicle being dismantled.
Police say they found 30-year-old Jesus Vigil Garcia of Oxnard allegedly in the process of dismantling a Chevy truck that turned out to be stolen.
He was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and operating a chop shop.
Police say Garcia has a criminal record that includes several arrests for vehicle theft with two convictions.
