Man And Boy Seriously Hurt In Simi Valley Crash

Wednesday May 16, 2018

Simi Valley police say a man and boy were seriously injured when their car crashed Tuesday night.

It happened around 10 PM in the 900 block of West Los Angeles Avenue.

When emergency personnel arrived on the scene, they found a badly damaged car with power lines down and the 40-year-old man and his 12-year-old male passenger inside.

The man was unconscious but breathing, the boy was in and out of consciousness.

Firefighters had to take great care in extricating the victims from the vehicle because of the downed power lines.

Ultimately, they were successful and the man and boy were taken to the trauma center at Los Robles Medical Center in Thousand Oaks with what police described as serious head injuries.

Police say drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the crash, but they say the driver was apparently going too fast and lost control of his vehicle before it smashed into the power pole.
