Ventura police say they have several teenage suspects in custody following a pursuit and crash Monday afternoon.
It started shortly after 2 PM when a patrol sergeant spotted a stolen vehicle with several people inside in the area of Valentine Road and Sperry Avenue.
When the sergeant tried to conduct a traffic stop, the driver failed to yield and that started a pursuit that wound its way around the industrial park on the ocean side of the 101 and west of Victoria Avenue.
The pursuit ended when the suspect vehicle crashed into another vehicle at Valentine Road and Knoll Drive, about a block away from where it all started.
The driver and his two passengers, a male and female, were taken into custody, but two other male passengers reportedly ran across the 101 Freeway to the northbound side.
Officers were able to corner them in a drainage ditch that runs between Walker Street and the northbound 101 near Saratoga Avenue and they were taken into custody.
The two people in the other vehicle that was struck by the suspect vehicle were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The two male subjects who ran and were taken into custody in the drainage ditch were treated for injuries and then arrested for resisting arrest.
The driver of the suspect vehicle was arrested for driving a stolen vehicle and DUI.
His male and female passengers who stayed with the vehicle were not arrest.
Three of the male suspects and the female suspect were all 15-years-old with one of the male suspects 16-years-old.
All of them are from Ventura.
