The Simi Valley Police Department is turning to the public as they try to identify the suspects involved in a recent rash of smash and grab burglaries at restaurants in that city.
During the early morning hours of Saturday, November 24, 2018, four commercial burglaries were committed by suspects who smashed the glass doors or windows of restaurants and then took cash or tried to take cash from the registers of those businesses.
It started with the Old Santa Susana Cafe in the 1500 block of Kuehner Drive around 1:30 AM when the suspects smashed the glass front door and took cash.
That was followed immediately by a break-in at the Chili's at Cochran Street and Madera Road.
The suspects smashed a large glass window and took cash and then fled in an unknown type vehicle eastbound on Cochran.
Around 4:30 AM, an employee arrived at Chi-Chi's Italian Restaurant in the 5100 block of Los Angeles Avenue and found the window smashed and an undisclosed amount of cash taken from the register.
It's also believed they hit the Baskins Robbins located in the same shopping center as Chi-Chi's.
Officers were able to obtain security photos of the suspects involved in the Santa Susana Cafe burglary and they've released them in the hope the public can identify the suspects.
Anyone with information on any of these crimes should call Detective Ryan Brennan at (805) 583-6246.
