There was a pursuit through Oxnard Tuesday morning that involved a crash.
The pursuit began around 4:40 AM on southbound Rose Avenue at Emerson after a Ventura County Sheriff's deputy tried to make a traffic stop on a vehicle that ran a red light.
The driver failed to yield and that began a pursuit that went southbound on Rose to Pleasant Valley Road and then did a 180 and went northbound on Rose Avenue to the 101 Freeway where the pursuit was called off for safety reasons.
During the pursuit, the suspect ran several red lights along Rose and traveled at speeds of 90 miles per hour.
Also, another deputy responding as backup crashed at Oxnard Boulevard and Gonzales Road.
It involved minor injuries.
Meanwhile, the suspect was spotted later on the 101 in Camarillo and was followed, but not pursued into Thousand Oaks where they lost him.
The vehicle involved was a silver Ford Focus and the registration came back to a person who had been convicted of brandishing a firearm.
