Not Guilty Pleas From The Man Charged With The Murders Of A Mother And Daughter In Oak View

     The man accused of killing a mother and daughter in their Oak View home August 24th pleaded not guilty in a Ventura courtroom Wednesday.

    25-year-old Shawn Shirck of Oak View is charged with two counts of murder and is facing two special allegations of use of a deadly weapon in the double homicide in the 100 block of Valley Ridge Drive.

   The victims, 82-year-old Phyllis Porter and her daughter, 59-year-old Margaret Dahl, were found dead in the home they rented from Shirck's father.

   They were stabbed to death.

   Shirck knew the victims.

   Following his arraignment Wednesday, Shirck was ordered back to court on November 5th for what's known as a early disposition conference.

   He remains in the Ventura County Jail with bail set at more than $1 million.
