Updated--Three people died in two separate crashes near Camarillo Thursday night at almost the exact same time.
The CHP says the first happened around 7:50 PM at Laguna and Las Posas roads just south of Camarillo.
The CHP says a 2018 Dodge Challenger was eastbound on Laguna Road approaching Las Posas Road when it failed to stop for the posted stop sign, entered the intersection, and struck a 2009 Honda traveling northbound on Las Posas.
The Honda ended up overturned in a ditch and partially submerged in water.
The CHP says the two people in the Honda, the driver, 71-year-old Teruyo Washington of Camarillo, and her passenger, 76-year-old Lawrence Washington of Camarillo, died at the scene.
The CHP says two people in the Dodge, the 23-year-old male driver from Oxnard, and his passenger, a 21-year-old man also from Oxnard, were taken to Los Robles Medical Center with minor injuries.
Then, the CHP says at the same time, 7:50 PM, there was a second fatal crash that happened a few miles away just north of Camarillo.

The CHP says in the second crash, 31-year-old Romeo Marquez of Panorama City, was driving a 2012 Peter-built truck that was towing another semi-truck northbound on Fairway Drive North of Desco Drive.
The CHP says that for unknown reasons, Marquez lost control of his vehicle and left the roadway.
The tow truck rolled down an embankment into an adjacent golf course and Marquez was killed.
The CHP investigated both crashes and during that time the respective roadways were closed for several hours.
